Decline of Hotel Bookings in Vadodara amid COVID19

Due to travel ban impositions in various countries and visa cancellations, the hospitality industry, especially hotels are suffering the most amid COVID19 scare.
As the footfalls of international travelers have dropped, so has the movement within India remarkably reduced due to rising coronavirus cases.
Few of the hotels in Vadodara have been hit the worst. While tourists book their tours for Statue of Unity, they simultaneously book their hotels in Vadodara. In the recent event of the disease outbreak, the tours are getting canceled and so are the hotel bookings. However, hotels accommodating maximum local travelers or tourists have comparatively faced lesser cancellations.
When asked about the preventive measures that are being taken by the hotel management, few of them responded saying that the hotels are equipped with proper hygienic materials. Sanitizers are placed wherever necessary and face masks are being stocked in case any guests require it.
The Owner/Managing Director of Fortune Inn said that the management conducts informational sessions for its guests regarding COVID19. They also have an on-call doctor who is present round the clock. The staff, and especially the kitchen staff in all the hotels go through a rigorous routine of cleaning and maintaining hygiene. They also get medically tested within regular intervals of time. On further being questioned about facing booking cancellations, he said that there has been no issue regarding cancellations of the rooms. Also, he mentioned that most of his guests are local.
