Dengue outbreak hits a new low in Vadodara

The dengue outbreak in the city has hit another low where 10 out of 12 registered cases have tested positive.

In the last one month, more than 5 unregistered deaths due to dengue have occurred and more than 997 positive cases have been registered as of today.

It is believed that the widespread cause of dengue is stale, dirty water that is being stored at construction sites. This dirty water is the main source of mosquito breeding. The regulatory bodies have identified 10 such construction sites and given them notices for the same. Along with that, authorities have begun work on fogging in around 12,674 houses.

According to surveys, majority of dengue cases registered are from north and west zones of Vadodara that includes Akota, Gotri, Makarpura, Navayard, Gorwa and Navi Dharti area. In that, dengue patients are on an average aged from 16 to 39 years.

Moreover, the ratio of dengue in last 6 years has been recorded highest in 2015 at 30%, whereas this year, the observed ratio is 20%.
