Lok Sarkar Wing of the Congress gave an application to the District Education Officer (DEO) with a demand for exemption in the documents being sought during the admission process of the children. The admission process is underway under the Right to Education.
The application stated that the admission process for the year 2020-21 which had started under the RTE Act, during this time, documents like Aadhar Card were sought for admission process by the schools.
Sutapa Singh, Vadodara President of the Lok Sarkar team said, a number of documents including Aadhaar cards are being sought for the RTE admission process. The following admissions process is coming to an end and currently, the process of issuing and correction of the Aadhaar card as well as the court proceedings are also closed.
The Lok Sarkar team has given an application letter to the DEO to give the parents an option for proof. Considering Corona’s condition, the team has proposed to extend the admission process, so that no child from a poor family is deprived of the benefits of RTE.
