Due to the coronavirus outbreak this year the celebrations have been canceled and organizers are celebrating them in a very simple way by observing the Covid 19 guidelines. Today, on the occasion of Prabodhini Ekadashi, the procession of Lord Vitthalnathji, which has been going on for 211 years in Vadodara was canceled due to the pandemic. Amongst the presence of priests and family, the procession was taken out inside the temple premises.
For many years after worshiping Lord Vitthalnathji on the day of Dev Uthi Ekadashi the procession is taken out from the temple which is run by the Royal Family in the center of Vadodara city. However this year to prevent the spread of Corona, the temple administrators have decided not to hold a procession in the city but have instead kept it inside the temple premises.
Today, as per the traditions Lord Vitthalnathji was seated in a silver palanquin and worshipped inside the temple premises. All the devotees were allowed inside the temple after the procession. This will be concluded by the marriage of Shree Hari with Tulsi, this evening.
