District Collector approved another COVID hospital at Padra and inspected health check-up

Vadodara District Collector, Shalini Agarwal visited Padra on Friday and decided to increase the facilities of COVID treatment and gave instructions for its immediate implementation. The number of 70 beds currently available in Padra’s hospitals has increased to 122 beds. Of the 52 newly expanded beds, 40 beds have oxygen facilities.

She said, all the preparations will be completed in three days and treatment will be available in one more hospital along with the approval of a new hospital for treatment. While an existing hospital was allowed to increase the number of beds. Thus, the number of recognized hospitals in Padra has now increased to 5.

The COVID Care Center with 15 beds was started in Padra and the number of beds was increased to 30 on the instructions of the Collector. She increased the number of beds by 30 during her visit today and as a result, the bed capacity has now increased to 60. She said that the entire planning has been done as part of precautionary measures so that in the future people easily will be able to get the facility at Padra.

On her suggestion health check-ups have also been started for the prevention of Super Spreader in Padra. As a part of it, she visited Padra APMC today, inspected the operation of intensive health check-ups by traders, farmers, and consumers, among others, and give instructions to make it more effective.

Under the campaign, 42 people were screened on the first day. The district collector had earlier in May-June also instructed traders and farmers who tested positive and recovered from the treatment to be covered in the health check-up.

The Chief District Health Officer said that the health check-up would be carried out for 10 days including various tests related to the COVID 19. Temperature to oxygen level is examined by the teams and medicines are given if needed. Along with COVID other diseases like diabetes, hypertension is also being tested.
