District Election Officer and Collector reviewed the election pre-preparations

In order to conduct the by-election of 147 Karjan assembly seats on 3rd November, necessary training is being imparted by selecting 1,555 officers and employees following the rules and provisions of the Election Commission of India. Special instructions regarding Corona were also given to operate 311 polling stations.
It was decided today that as a safety measure, a rapid test would be conducted before polling to ensure that all these people were free of Corona.


16 Class-I officers as Nodal Officers have been appointed by District Election Officer and Collector Shalini Agarwal to discharge various responsibilities as per the rules of election management and to conduct the elections properly and in an integrated manner. Detailed instructions on the work done by these officers for the necessary pre-preparation was given by her in the meeting.


The Election Commission of India has appointed senior officers of the Central Services as Expenditure Inspector and General Inspector. Liaison officers were given necessary guidance regarding their arrival and operations.
Ballot units, counting units, and VVPATs have been allotted in the proportion prescribed by the Election Commission for conducting polling. 15 technical teams have been formed to keep these machines running and in good condition. It was informed that four awareness vehicles are currently demonstrating the use of VVPATs in 311 polling station areas.
To maintain law and order, transport of polling materials and troops, distribution of polling materials at Karjan, and arrangement of return centers were also discussed in the meeting.
The meeting witnessed the presence of District Police Officer Sudhir Desai, Resident Additional Collector DR Patel, Deputy District Election Officer R.M. Joshi, and Nodal officers.
