The prestigious EME school of the Indian Army at Vadodara specializes in the maintenance and repair of electronic, mechanical, and modern digital devices. District Collector Shalini Agarwal decided to utilize their expertise to ensure that the sensitive life-saving devices of the hospitals were maintained at a time when the COVID crisis was at its peak.
Along with the District Superintendent of Police, she visited the institute and consulted the superiors. Based on the meeting, a Telephonic Equipment Helpline was started from May 15. The helpline aided the Gotri Hospital in case of emergencies. As many as 19 different types of machinery and equipment from the Gotri Hospital were left damaged due to mechanical defects. With the help of the helpline started by EME, many devices were repaired and restarted in time by the experts for further use.
Devices like Infusion Pump, De-Fibrillator, ECG machine, Bio Otter, Fogger Machine, Suction Machine, Oxygen Concentrator, and Flow Meter were repaired and put into operation by specialists at EME. The District Collector appreciated the courtesy and contribution of the EME school and hoped that they would also be helpful in the upcoming season of monsoon as per the need of hospitals.
