Under the chairmanship of Minister Kuvarjibhai Bavlia, a contemplative session was conducted for Saurashtra-Kutch District Supply Officers and Supply Managers. Organized by the Government of Gujarat’s Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, the event focused on the “Duties of District Supply Officers.” Minister Kunwarjibhai Bavlia emphasized the need for improved efficiency and accountability in delivering government schemes to the people.
Minister Bavlia noted that this inaugural food and civil supply contemplative camp in Rajkot would enhance the department’s capabilities. Such contemplative workshops elevate officers’ efficiency. The minister stressed the importance of fulfilling the populace’s dietary needs with complete responsibility and discipline. Officers were urged to be well-prepared to streamline the distribution of various government schemes to the public.
Highlighting Saurashtra’s reputation for hospitality, Minister Bavlia encouraged officers to efficiently deliver food to the people. He emphasized the necessity for officers to adopt disciplined communication and thinking when interacting with the public. The minister underscored the significance of ensuring that beneficiaries receive the benefits of grain schemes initiated since the COVID-19 period. Godown Managers were instructed to scrutinize the quality, weight, and overall condition of grains received from FCI. Supply officers were encouraged to have a thorough understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
Principal Secretary R. C. Meena emphasized the pivotal role of contemplative workshops in enhancing any government department. These sessions provide valuable information, including updates on new laws related to the department, enabling officials to effectively implement schemes. Practical training in the field was proposed for a group of officers to address real-world challenges. A question-and-answer session was also held to address officials’ concerns.
Managing Director Tushar Dholakia highlighted that understanding the food and civil supplies department’s functioning would lead to solutions for operational challenges. Integrating new updates and modern technology would revolutionize officers’ working methods, ultimately benefiting the government scheme beneficiaries.
The contemplative camp commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony, and dignitaries were welcomed with the book of Ramayana. District Supply Officer Rajesh Vangwani and Collector Prabhav Joshi extended a formal welcome. Principal Secretary R. C. Meena, Managing Director Tushar Dholakia, Collector Prabhav Joshi, Additional Collector JK Jegoda, Deputy Secretary Nayanaben, Executive Director Dewangi Desai, Director Bhavin Sagar, Personal Secretary Shivraj Bilwa, Deputy Secretary Hemant Srimali, District Supply Officer Rajesh Wangwani, and all District Supply Officers, Supply Managers, Godown Managers, and staff attended the event.
