Ex-councilor of BJP caught in a verbal spat with Vadodara Traffic Police over ‘helmet issue’

After Tushar Shah went against the New Motor Vehicle Act and sat in the middle of the road on Monday, ex-councilor of BJP, Minesh Shah was found arguing with the cops as he was stopped for not wearing a helmet.

However, Shah, being a former member of the BJP was arguing about why the Police was standing at Char Darwaza in Mandvi and not at Pani Gate or other areas. More so, Shah also pointed out idle auto rickshaws near Mandvi Gate even though there was no rickshaw stand in the area.

During their verbal spat, the ex-councilor threatened the police officer by calling the Vadodara Traffic Police ACP Amita Vanani and ex-minister Bhupendra Lakhawala. After Vanani did not answer the call, Shah connected the police officer to Bhupendra Lakhawala. However, even after these calls, the ex-councilor was charged penalized with a chalaan of Rs. 500 for not following the traffic rules by not wearing a helmet.

With the ongoing uproar in the public about heavy fines and the amended Motor Vehicle Act, it has become a task for the Traffic Police to ensure that the public follows the rules and regulations.
