Facebook Community Leadership Circles holds a mental health meetup in Vadodara

Mallika Pathak, a clinical psychologist who works with Gautam Amin at his clinic Riddhi Hospital, talked to a group of more than 20 people about mental health at Our Vadodara as a part of Facebook Community Circles meetup in Vadodara at Our Vadodara premises.

From the taboo surrounding depression to visiting a therapist, she asserted the fact about how good mental health is important for living a healthy life. The group also held a myth-busting session where Mallika Pathak helped dispel myths surrounding mental health, visiting a psychologist and visiting a psychiatrist. She also talked about the importance of psychiatry and how psychiatric medications can be used to revive mental health.

People in the interactive session also shared their concerns about their own mental health with Mallika Pathak, which she helped them with. Our Vadodara aims to build a community where peers can share their problems in a non-judgemental, safe space which ensures privacy.
