Family of missing FCI employee threatens to fast unto death

The family of Pavankumar Sharma, who has been missing since 24 October 2018, has threatened to go onto a hunger strike outside Sayajiganj police station if he is not found within 10 days.

Pavankumar Sharma, who was employed as an officer with Food Corporation of India since the last 8 years has been missing since the last four and a half months. There has been no trace of him and the family claims that the police have made no attempts to find him. His wife Maya Sharma and his five of his other family members said that they would go on an indefinite hunger strike if he is not found within 10 days.

Police say they have made several attempts to trace Sharma’s whereabouts. The 34-year-old was promoted just a few days before he went missing and even threw a party to commemorate the occasion. He was allegedly on a train to Raipur the day he went missing but he left his mobile phone, cash and debit card behind.
