Family of deceased allege negligence of Sumandeep Hosp at Kothi Char Rasta, after patient died by falling from bed

Yogesh Ishwarbhai Chauhan, 31, lived with his family in Waghodia Dabhoi Ring Road. He was an engineer and was working in a private company in Karkhadi village of Padra taluka. He had tested positive for corona and was under treatment at home.

On April 4, his family members took him to Sumandeep Hospital near Kothi Char Rasta for treatment. Family member Sanket Makwana said that Yogesh was admitted to the hospital and they deposited Rs 50,000 on the same day. After that, the hospital said that there was a problem in the patient’s lungs and an injection worth Rs 40,000 was given. Meanwhile, a call came from the hospital this morning that he had fallen from the bed and died. Upon receiving the news, the family rushed to the hospital.

His family has alleged that he died after falling from a hospital bed in the morning on Tuesday. The death caused great anger among the family members and they argued with the hospital staff. Sanket further said that Yogesh’s death was due to the negligence of the doctors and staff of the hospital. The hospital is only interested in making money and has no interest in taking care of the patients. The hospital has no facilities like CCTV cameras. They approached the police for an autopsy to find out the exact cause of his death.

As per details the police team including senior police officials rushed to the spot and tried to settle the matter. Yogesh Chauhan and Khushboo were married for two years and the couple was also preparing to move to Canada.

Their relative, Vijay Parmar alleged that 31-year-old Yogesh died due to hospital negligence. Adding that if his death was due to bad lungs, then why an injection of Rs 40,000 was given. He also alleged that while Yogesh’s death may have been due to a brain hemorrhage caused by falling from the bed, they wanted to conduct an autopsy to find out the exact cause of death. At present they believe the death was due to the negligence of the doctors and staff of the hospital.

Raopura Police started investigating the matter. The family demanded a judicial inquiry in the matter.
