Gujarat being a dry state, the introduction of non-alcoholic beer was notoriously famous in the crowd – young and old. However, to their dismay, the food department had some other ideas in mind.
Alcohol or not – the food department conducted a surprise check to find out! The food safety department deployed 6 teams to conduct a surprise check at non-alcoholic beer dealers’ workshops/go downs and shops in Vadodara. A team of 8 food inspectors were at Gorwa’s Maa Shakti Trading Company, where they seized samples of almost 8 different non-alcoholic beer brands, including Helly Can, Vanpur, Astrela, Bavaria and Admistor.
The surprise check was led on the allegation that around 0.3% of alcohol is found present in a few brands that sell non-alcoholic beers. The checking seized a total of 2,987 cans worth roughly around Rs. 2,27,270 from Gorwa’s distributor.
Leaving the dealers and distributors astounded, the food safety officials have once again proved that they are intact on the #HealthyVadodaraPromise.
