Free treatment of animals through mobile veterinary clinics in Vadodara district

The State Animal Husbandry Department in collaboration with GVK-EMRI has provided 108 veterinary dispensaries across the state for the protection of animal health. 10 villages have been connected with a mobile animal dispensary that visits the hospital as per the schedule and provides free animal health care services. Veterinarians can call 1962 in case of urgency, emergency and get the health services of the mobile veterinary clinic in their area for their seriously ill or injured animal.

In the Vadodara district, 17 mobile veterinary dispensaries were started by the state government last year. According to the project coordinator, Jaimil Dave a total of 39,784 animals was treated in just one year after the launch, of which 36,966 were treated during the schedule and 2,818 during the emergency.

17 mobile veterinary clinics have been started in Nandesari, Sindhrot, Muwal in Padra, Karjan, Karamadi, Anandi in Shinor, Vaniyad, Karnali in Dabhoi, Simlia, Amreshwar in Waghodia, Rajpura, Vemar in Savli, Valavav and Varsada in Champaner and Desar talukas.

The purpose of this mobile veterinary hospital is to take care of the health of dairy farmers and big animals useful for farming.  Areas, where veterinary services are not available nearby, have availed this service. Each of these vans has a veterinary doctor and assistant-driver.
