Garba added to morning exercise for COVID patients at SSG

Regular exercises and yoga are done by the physiotherapy department to refresh and energize the patients of the Covid ward of Sayaji Hospital, as well as to keep the oxygen level stable through regulation of respiratory functions. Laughter and music therapy are also associated with it. The purpose of these experiments is to keep the patients happy, cultivate positivity in their psyche, and speed up the healing process.

This morning’s exercise was given a new twist as Garba was incorporated into the regime by the team. Garba mode exercises were conducted in the Covid ward on Tuesday and the patients undergoing treatment were able to enjoy the devotional festival of Navratri along with the benefits of exercise. AP and Nodal Officer, Physiotherapy, Dr. Chetna Seju in coordination with the Administrative Nodal Officer of Covid Facility, Dr. OB Belim created a new atmosphere in the ward and also in patients.

Dr. Chetna said that the rules of the government regarding Navratri should be followed and the patients who are undergoing treatment here should get the joy of Navratri. She stated that adequate vigilance was taken care of the oxygen level and physical condition of patients during this coordinated experiment of exercise and Garba. Her team is happy that this experiment is increasing the level of happiness in patients.

Dr. Vaishali Mistry, Dr. Hetvi Bhavsar, and Dr. Khushbu Parmar were assisted in the planning of this experiment. Administrative Nodal Officer Dr. Belim also congratulated the team for following all the guidelines and make the patients feel the joy of Navratri.
