On Monday, GMERS doctors with other government doctors of Gujarat started a protest against their long-pending demands under the Gujarat government doctors forum. The doctors protested at Gotri and wore black ribbons to sensitize the government. On Friday, they again tried to push forward their demands by sitting on a symbolic fast and silently protested against their long-term pending demands.
Doctors will give a memorandum to the Collector on 4th December. The doctors demanded Provident Fund, salary, promotion, implementation of 7th Pay Commission and benefits.
Dr Hiren Prajapati, President GMERS Faculty Association said that they are demanding benefits like the government employees PF, high salary, promotion, transport and medical allowances, NPA as per 7th Pay Commission and many others.
After meeting with government representatives the issues are yet not resolved and hence they are silently protesting. On Saturday, a rally will be taken out in all six districts and later they will go on a strike if the issues will still be unresolved.
They are hoping for a solution as meetings are on with the government. All the services inside the hospital are being carried on smoothly.
