Governor of Gujarat Acharya Devvrat saddened with the situation of Gujarat Vidyapeeth

As the governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat is setting an example by participating in the cleaning campaign along with other cleaning staff of the corporation at Gujarat Vidyapeeth campus. He is saddened by the immense filth in the system of people who call themselves ‘Gandhiyan’. The institute sets an example of dreams of Mahatma Gandhi and right filled with filth.

Along with a broom in his hand Acharya Devvratji along with the staff of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) personally cleaned the premises of Vidyapeeth. He has been doing this for last 15 days. The situation is completely opposite to the Gandhi’s quote “A toilet should be that clean so much that it should look as sandhya pooja room” (meditation room).

The governor was deeply distressed to see tobacco packets in the bathrooms, broken pipes and dirty walls of the hostel, broken fans, extremely dirty beds of the students and filth everywhere. The students studying and living in an institution based on the ideals of Pujya Gandhi should not consume tobacco.

This morning he suddenly arrived at Gujarat Vidyapith and called around 25 to 30 cleaners of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and conducted a cleanliness drive. He also urged the Chancellor of Gujarat Vidyapeeth Rajendra Khimani and Registrar Nikhil Bhatt to maintain cleanliness in the entire Vidyapeeth premises. On this occasion Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner M. Thennarson, Deputy Municipal Commissioner I. K. Patel, C. R. Kharsan, Assistant Commissioner Shri Rahul Shah and other high officials were present and actively contributed to the cleanliness drive.

Governor Acharya Devvrat visited Post Graduate Hostel Complex, Yoga Vidya Department and Prathanna Sabha Complex today. He said during his visit to Gujarat Vidyapeeth that young students are very energetic. Their energy should be diverted towards creative and positive things. Every youth must sweat twice a day, otherwise it proves harmful. The sports grounds of Gujarat Vidyapeeth is not utilized properly. There is no sports equipment and even the overgrown grass shows how grave the situation is.
