The outrageous stir up of civilians about the ill-conditioned roads of Vadodara seems to have shaken the State authorities.
The condition of Vadodara roads had been deteriorating before monsoons hit the city whereas post the flash floods, there is not a single road which is not damaged. The growing size of potholes are quite alarming.
To repair the damaged roads and begin the restoration process, CM Vijay Rupani has allotted Rs. 35 crores grant to Vadodara under the Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana. The road repair work is said to be started in the coming Navratri.
Along with that, the CM has also instructed the Municipal Commissioners to administer a survey of damaged and dilapidated houses to prevent the loss of lives that occur after these old and crumbling collapse.
Likewise, a total of Rs. 216 crore grant has been allotted under the Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana to 8 major cities in Gujarat – Rs. 60 crores to Ahmedabad, Rs. 50 crores to Surat, Rs. 35 crores to Vadodara, Rs. 25 crores to Rajkot, Rs. 15 crores to Bhavnagar and Jamnagar each, Rs. 6 crores to Junagadh and Rs. 10 crores to Gandhinagar.
