Health-Care worker turn into sisters for COVID patients

Rakshabandhan is usually celebrated as the bond of sibling love, where one prays for a healthy and safe life and other vows to protect them. This year, Rakshabandhan’s spirit was captured in its truest essence at Sir Sayaji General Hospital (SSGH) and Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society (GMERS).

The first incident took place at SSG Hospital where Dr Chetna is a senior physiotherapist and was appointed as in-charge by Dr Vinod Rao after she agreed to work in the COVID ward. For the patients receiving treatment, exercise is the key as it gives them energy and speeds up the recovery process. Dr Chetna extends her wishes uniquely while giving helpful tips to the patients.

The second incident is from GMERS, Gotri. The on-duty nurses who work in the COVID ward, stay away from their family as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of infection. As they stay away from family, they cannot celebrate festivals as duty comes first for them. On the day of Rakshabandhan, the nurses considered the patients under treatment as their brothers and celebrated the festival with them. They wished them a speedy recovery.
