Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth roughly Rs. 8 lakhs got busted, stashed in chairs inside a container by the Vadodara rural local crime branch. Two people have been detained and commodities worth Rs. 16.63 lakhs were seized, including liquor bottles, containers, chairs, and cellphones.
Due to the forthcoming Panchayat elections, police in the Vadodara district are conducting a particular effort to uproot prohibition cases. The Vadodara Local Crime Branch team was on patrol in the Waghodia police station area during the evening hours of Monday as part of it.
Meanwhile, they acquired information about a Tata 909 container carrying IMFL and traveling through Halol road on its way to Vadodara.
As a result, the team halted the container on the opposite side of the road, in front of the Decent hotel on the Halol Vadodara route, and discovered two people from Rajasthan, Ravindra Jat, and Lalaram Meena. When the team looked inside the container, they identified 8,016 bottles worth $801,600 hiding between the chairs.
Following the registration of the case, the team seized things worth 16.63 lakhs, including liquor bottles, containers, 35 chairs, and cellphones, and moved quickly to arrest the remaining suspects.
