The state-of-the-art lab built at a cost of Rs 30 lakh will make reference literature, journals, books available to students online. The Advanced Computer Lab of Central Library of Baroda Medical College located in the SSG hospital premises was inaugurated by Dean Tanuja Javadekar. The lab was built with the financial support of Dr. T. V. Patel Trust.
The state-of-the-art advanced computer lab equipped with 50 computers will help students to study reference literature, journals, books, and others. Dean Dr. Tanuja Javadekar said that almost no medical education institute in Gujarat has such a state-of-the-art computer lab for medical students and perhaps only a few medical education institutes in the country will have such a facility.
She said that there is access to online books, journals that are available here and many of them can also be downloaded. Access to books that cannot be bought or viewed has become easier with this feature. With the help of this lab, students will be able to join online national or international seminars, workshops.
Superintendent Dr. Ranjan Iyer said that the late Thakorbhai Patel was once the Health Minister of Gujarat in whose name the Trust has been dedicated. He has also been associated with the hospital and Baroda Medical College and also been Professor and Head of the Department of Gynecology. With the computer lab built with the financial support of this trust, especially in the Corona epidemic, when students will study online, they will get special benefits from the advanced computer lab for study.
