Khanderao Market comes back to life, with precautions

The famous Indo-Saracenic building Khanderao Market of Vadodara reopened on June 11 after being closed for more than two months owing to the Coronavirus induced lockdown. The decision was taken on Wednesday after a meeting between the trade association and the Municipal Commissioner and Mayor.

Khanderao Market accommodates the fruit and vegetable market, both wholesale and retail, and a flower market.

The market started at around 8 in the morning today and has received comparatively less footfall today. The vegetable and fruit sellers are taking all the necessary precautions like using sanitizer, face mask, gloves so as to serve their customers properly. They have marked circles in front of their designated spaces and are following the odd and even number rule to minimize the spread of the invisible virus. The customers are expected to maintain social distancing and wear masks too.
