As the cases of forced conversion of Hindu girls under false pretext are on the rise, the MLA of Dabhoi has demanded the Chief Minister to implement the law of Love Jihad in Gujarat. This matter will be represented to the government and efforts will be made in this regard to make it a law.
Love Jihad means forced conversion and marriage. Looking at the law enacted in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, Shailesh Mehta, MLA of Dabhoi took a strong stand and also demand a law to be enacted in Gujarat.
In a statement issued, Shailesh Mehta, BJP MLA from Dabhoi Nagar, said that a law should be enacted in Gujarat on “Love Jihad” to prevent a girl from falling into a love trap by using a false name. The MLA further clarified that in view of the growing issue of Love Jihad cases in Gujarat, he will represent the Chief Minister and request to make the law in Gujarat like in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
