Liquor bottles kept to chill with AC units, caught by Vadodara’s Local Crime Branch

‘Where there’s a will, there’s a way’, but this time to smuggle in liquor into a state that has put a ban on it.

A local crime branch team caught hold of a driver and cleaner for illegally transporting Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) to Vadodara. These IMFL were hidden inside a container that was hidden between AC Units. The consignment was said to be transported from Haryana to Vadodara via Mahuvad Padra.

The local crime branch supposedly received a tip about the IMFL being carried into the city and kept watch at the Padra Dabhasa area where they ambushed the truck coming from a secluded road. The team nabbed the driver and the cleaner while a piloting car fled from the spot.

91 boxes of IMFL worth Rs. 4.36 lakhs, 99 AC units costing 18.24 lakhs, a container worth 10 lakh, and a mobile were seized from the spot. The team is undergoing further information in the matter.
