Madhavpur Fair is the only fair in the country where the cultural mix of North East and West of India takes place. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work is being done to preserve and strengthen the country’s cultural heritage” mentioned Union Minister for Information, Broadcasting, and Sports Anurag Singh Thakur. Other dignitaries who attended the were CM of Manipur N. Biren Singh and Gujarat government ministers including Minister of State for Tourism Arvind Raiyani and MP Ram Mokriya at the Cultural Festival were present on the third day of Madhavpur Ghed Fair.
The fair of Madhavpur connects the culture of the Northeast and the culture of West Gujarat. Under the leadership of PM Modi, the Madhavpur Ghed Fair has become one of the country’s fairs which is an integral part of North Eastern and Western cultures. The Minister congratulated the devotees of Madhavpur Ghed Fair by hailing Lord Krishna, congratulating the planning of the Government of Gujarat on the development of Gujarat under the leadership of CM Bhupendra Patel and highlighting the culture through programs including fairs and festivals.
Before it was called the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, and other great freedom fighters or even our PM Modi. According to folklore, Lord Krishna married Queen Rukmini in Madhavpur. Every year, for five days from the day of Ram Navmi, a cultural fair is organized mainly on the background of the religious belief of Krishna marrying Rukmini. A colorful chariot is decorated and the form of Krishna is placed in the chariot and a procession proceeds through the village as a part of celebrating the event of Krishna’s marriage. Village people put colors on each other as part of a celebration that also involves joyful dancing. The fair of Madhavpur also highlights cultural harmony.
Describing the Madhavpur sheep fair as a symbol of an India-best India, the marriage of Lord Krishna and Queen Rukmini of the northeastern province took place in Madhavpur, so the Madhavpur fair also highlights cultural harmony. The fair held here strengthens our culture by being held with enthusiasm. Ancient relics of God are also found here, and through these fairs, people keep mythological events in mind. Lord Krishna has destroyed Asuras and established Dharma. This fair in Madhavpur is a fair that realizes the vision of a better India.
This fair of Madhavpur then reveals our luxurious Bhatigal culture. This is the great land of saints. Artists from the northeastern states have showcased their talents at this fair. While Saurashtra, the ‘Karma Bhoomi’ of Lord Krishna, is famous worldwide for welcoming guests, the arrival of artists from the northeastern states in this land strengthens Indian culture.
A sand sculpture of Lord Krishna and Queen Rukmini was built by an artist on Madhavpur beach. Madhavpur beach is a famous tourist spot because of its scenic beauty. The place along with a long stretch of sandy beach is endowed with coconut trees and blessed with fertile agricultural land. The famous spot is the beautiful Madhavraiji Haveli Temple in addition to the Rukmini no choro.
