Maker’s Festival Vadodara will take place on 2nd, 3rd March in Kala Bhavan, MSU

Maker’s Festival in Vadodara is here to help bring local inventors and innovators to the front. It will showcase a large number to technological innovations from Vadodara and even pan India, but with a special focus on Vadodara.

For the uninitiated, Maker’s Fest is an international festival where bright minds showcase their inventions spanning across different fields. This was originally launched in California in 2006 and this is the Indian version.

Maker’s fest Vadodara is a collaboration between  Silicon Valley-based Venture Capitalist and founder of the Motwani Jadeja Foundation – Ms. Asha Jadeja along with Yuvalay ELab and MS University.

There will be 50 stalls for different inventions where 35 stalls will focus on technology, and the rest will showcase innovative teaching methods and new art forms. There is also a stage set for dramas and dance from the students of the Faculty of Performing Arts while the Faculty of Fine Arts will showcase their talents.

Smith Bhanushali, Lab Manager at Yuvalay ELab in Vadodara, spoke to us about the different sort of innovators. “There’s one kid who has built a machine that looks like a snake and can move through cracks in the ground during an earthquake and discover survivors by detecting their heartbeat,” he said. “There is this one inventor that has come up with the invention of LightWi (Li-Fi). Like Wi-Fi, this instrument transmits data through waves of light.”Once an innovator came up with an idea of designing a refrigerator made from mud for rural areas without electricity.”

Head to Kala Bhavan in MSU Baroda on 2nd and 3rd March to catch the Maker’s Fest Vadodara.
