Manisha Wala, a daughter of a working-class family from Kodinar, Gir Somnath will represent in Open International World Cup in Dublin, Ireland for kickboxing

‘Don’t compromise with dreams, fight for the goal’ says Manisha Wala who is under training in Vadodara for the Open International World Cup in Dublin, Ireland for kickboxing. She aims to win the gold medal in the kickboxing championship. 

Manisha Wala, who is currently undergoing training at Vadodara, “If the footsteps are unstable, the road is never paved. Since childhood she was fond of sports and today, she has taken her passion to a different level. Also, her parents have constantly supported and encouraged her to achieve her dream. Manisha believes that father Jagdishbhai and mother Pranchiben have been instrumental in moving forward in sports.

To qualify in the category for the Open International World Cup, she excelled in her performance in Senior National Kick Boxing Camp held in Dayanand Badongar Padem (Stadium) Sports Complex in Goa in August. Based on which she was got an opportunity to participate in the India Camp at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Himachal Pradesh. This was also accompanied by international-level training.

Manisha also mentioned that how the state government has supported such young sports enthusiasts in the last few years by upgrading and promoting their policies. Many young enthusiasts have chosen to carve their careers in sports. Good infrastructure and good coaching play an important role in moulding champions, Mr. Siddharth Bhalegar has been a good coach to Manisha for the training for international kickboxing. She also received appreciation and support from Shri Harshbhai Sanghvi, Minister of State for Home.

Kickboxing is a less popular sport in Saurashtra, it is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kick and punching which has historically evolved from karate mixed with boxing. She has inspired the youth to join more sports activities.
