The “Maru Gaam Corona Mukt Gaam” campaign has started across the state from 1st May, the foundation day of Gujarat.
Under this campaign, the responsibility has been handed over to the members of the Cabinet by the Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. As a part of which the Minister of State for Narmada Development Yogesh Patel has been given the responsibility of Vadodara district. Under Maru Gaam Corona Mukt Gaam Abhiyan, 5,749 bed facility has been provided at Community Covid Care Centers in 546 villages of Vadodara district.
The Minister of State visited Savli, Desar and Waghodia talukas on Saturday and reviewed the situation of Corona in the villages with the local administration and asked them to make sincere efforts to make Corona free villages.
He inspected the vaccination operations at Janmotri Hospital and also visited Savli, Desar CHC, Rajupura, Pandu, Manjusar and Jarod Collective Covid Care Centers and got information about the facilities provided to the patients under isolation. Yesterday, the Minister along with District Panchayat President Ashok Patel visited Vega in Dabhoi taluka, CHC Dabhoi, Chandod, Segwa of Chanwada Shinor taluka and Vemar of Karjan taluka.
He added that community covid care centers have been started per panchayat with public participation to provide immediate treatment to the citizens at the village level. The ‘My Village Corona Free Village’ campaign will play an important role in stopping the spread of corona in rural areas and infected patients can get prompt treatment.
He said a committee of ten leaders has been formed in each village to ensure that no congestion occurs in the village, social distance is maintained and people wear masks to prevent further cases of corona.
Accommodation, meals, adequate supply of medicines, clean drinking water and sanitation facilities are being provided to the patients in the covid care centers in Vadodara district through public assistance.
He added that in order to realise the vision of a corona free village, patients with common corona symptoms stating at home would infect other family members. But certain infections could be prevented at the village level if they were treated in isolation at the Covid Care Center. If symptoms like cold, cough, fever are seen at the village level, they should remain isolated as a precaution. He added that standard kits, BP, oxygen level of the needy would be checked and if necessary, efforts would be made to take them to other hospitals.
District Development Officer Kiran Zaveri informed about the comprehensive measures taken by the district health system in collaboration with the rural manpower to prevent the second wave of corana in the rural areas of Vadodara district.
MP Ranjan Bhatt, MLA Ketan Inamdar, Chief District Health Officer Dr. Surendra Jain, office bearers, nodal officers and officials of taluka administration were present during the visit.
