Minister paid respect to Dr. B.R Ambedkar at Sankalp Bhoomi in Vadodara

On the occasion of 104th Sankalp Day, the newly appointed Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Government of Gujarat, Pradip Parmar offered his respect to Bharat Ratna Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at Sankalp Bhoomi in Vadodara. He was accompanied by Collector R. B. Barad, Mayor Keyur Rokadia, and other dignitaries.

He bowed to Sankalp Bhoomi, expressed his gratitude, and said that Bharat Ratna, Bodhisattva and Savior of Dalit, oppressed and exploited class, Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar has made a great contribution in nation-building. A monument is being constructed at Sankalp Bhumi by the state government in his due honor, which will continue to inspire the coming generation to work for the society and country. He also termed the incident at Santalpur in Patan as a criminal activity and requested to stay away from superstition.

It is worth mentioning that a unique chapter of Sankalp Bhoomi has been written in the history of India. On this day in the year 1917, on 23rd September, Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar took an oath to liberate the Dalits, victims, and exploiters under a big tree at Sayajibaug in Vadodara.

On this occasion, Mayor Keyur Rokadia said that Bharat Ratna Dr. Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar has a unique relationship with Vadodara. He was the then Secretary of State for Vadodara. He also went abroad to study with a scholarship from Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad. He meditated while sitting under the Vad tree here due to the abuse he received. He fought for the rights of Dalits, victims, exploited, and were given their rights in the constitution of the country. Today the whole country remembers him for his work.
