A minor girl was sexually assaulted twice by her uncle in Gajrawadi area of Vadodara

On one hand, the entire country is celebrating women scientists for taking us to Mars and the Moon, while on the other, the gruesome act of rape is still prevalent in the nooks and corners of the cities.

On Sunday, a 10-year-old girl living in Gajrawadi area of the city narrated her traumatic stomach pain and bleeding from private parts to her mother. The girl disclosed to her mother that her 55-year-old cousin uncle from Waghodia had visited their house 12 days back and again on 7th September when the minor was alone at home. The uncle made her see a porn film and later raped her on both days. The man threatened the girl if she screamed for help.

The girl studying in grade IV complained about the constant stomach ache and bleeding from private parts to her mother after the first time she was raped, however her mother misjudged it for some ailment as the girl was not keeping well. When the girl complained again, her mother asked if something unusual had happened in the last few days. Only then did the minor confess about the trauma she had been through.

The accused was arrested on Monday after the girl’s parents approached Panigate Police Station and lodged a complaint of rape and criminal intimidation under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence (POCSO) Act. His mobile was seized and the minor’s medical check-up was done.

The arrested man is married and has 3 kids, said the Police officials.
