As per the information, ACP A.V Rajgor said that the SOG received information about a gang involved in a railway job scam is active in the city and are cheating candidates in the name of jobs in railways. The police team kept a watch.
According to the details, Tushar Purohit, the mastermind of the gang had rented an office in Uday Nagar near Old Padra Road at Manisha Chokdi. He had begun cheating the educated unemployed youth in the name of getting jobs in the railways. But before the gang could flee, the SOG raided their place and nabbed three members of the gang. Police seized bogus stamps of the Railway Ministry, appointment letters, I-cards, selection merit list of Railway Department, Railway Ministry filed, voucher books, nameplates, railway receipt books, visiting cards of various positions, laptops, and mobiles.
The police said that the Modus Operandi of the gang is just like the Bollywood movie- ‘Special 26’. The accused used to conduct exams, declare merit lists, and even send the candidates for training.
The SOG team has arrested Tushar Purohit, Dilip Solanki, and Kaushal Parekh from the spot. Two other gang members from Delhi have been declared wanted by the police and the search is on to arrest them. The police inquiry has revealed that the hand had collected Rs. 1 Crore from 54 candidates. The team is investigating the involvement of any railway employee or other people in this matter.
