Mouse chewed a slum boy’s paralyzed leg

Rakesh, aka Kapli lives in a slum in front of the Samta Police Station. He used to carry heavy cement bags and scrap and earned a meagre amount. His father had left the family a long time back. He used to feed and take care of his mother as well as his younger brother. His mother expired in January.
Recently, Mrs. Nita and the teacher of the slum children, Mona Shah noticed his deteriorating health. He had become extremely skinny and sick. With the help of some vendors, they decided to admit him to Sir Sayajirao General Hospital (SSGH).
When he was admitted to the hospital, a part of his leg was already chewed up by a mouse and the mouse also caused a tear near his hips. Later it was found that a nerve in his spine had choked which had resulted in paralysis of one of his legs.

He has an elder brother who was approached by the concerned people to stay with Kapli. They were ready to raise funds and not demand a single penny in return. All they wanted was a member of the family to be on his side during his distressing time. It was in fact Kapli’s eight-year-old brother who stayed with him and looked after him.

Mrs. Nita had approached Our Vadodara to seek help for the little boy. She informed that Kapli was a hard-working boy who never accepted money if he hadn’t rightfully earned it. They wanted the help of an NGO or anybody who would be willing to help the boy. After the appeal was posted online, a lot of NGOs came forward to help him. His per day charges at SSGH are Rs. 1000 and has had surgery recently. An extremely helpful man, Mr. Sushant Jadav has come forward to help him to the best of his capacity, while Mrs. Nita is trying to collect funds for his treatment. A selfless act by Mrs. Nita and Mrs. Mona has ensured that the boy gets medical attention.
The kindness showered by these few strangers who don’t want any fame or money in return but just want financial help for Kapli’s further treatments. They wish for this honest little boy to recover and get healthy again.
