The MSU acid attack threat case that rocked MSU in April, has landed in a new twist as the probe committee mentioned in the report that after intensive checking, the available evidence and witnesses are not enough to prove anything against the eight students.
The Pathan group was accused of threatening Saloni Mishra, Ex-VP with acid attack in April. Mishra had filed a police complaint against the accused Zuber Pathan and seven others who were arrested and Zuber has been jailed under Prevention of Anti-Social Act (PASA).
However, in a recent development of the case, a report was prepared by the MSU probe committee to review the case. The report states that it had taken into consideration the surveillance footages and recorded statements of the security guards present at the time. More so, the committee had also given Mishra a period of two days to present any audio or visual evidence. However, it was difficult to prove that the accused had threatened Mishra after no audio or video recording evidence of the incident was found that support Mishra’s statements.
Hence, the university has decided to put the accused students on probation, who were debarred from taking re-admission in academic year 2019-20 based on Mishra’s complaint.
Meanwhile, Saloni Mishra said, “syndicate members shall be held responsible if anything happens to me after the return of the Pathan group.”
