On August 5, all the deans of faculties, principals of colleges, representatives of Computer Center, and representatives of examinations/academic activities cell was held to discuss the matter regarding the online examinations. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University. Everyone was briefed about the cyber attack on the server during the mock-test which had to be canceled.
The difficulty faced in conducting the Mock test because of artificial traffic generated by professional hackers with an intention to hack the server was explained and that the data on the server is completely secured with the University despite the cyberattack was ensured. The cyberattack had slowed down the operations and had hampered the process of examinations, but data was not stolen.
From time to time, a backup of the online examination was taken. Due to the abnormal traffic that peaked just a day before the online examinations, the server was upgraded and during the process, certain images and data were uploaded on the last two days i.e 30th and 31st July, which could not be retrieved and hence the data was not visible in the system. Consequently, the Online Mock Test and the final examinations had to postponed.
The missing data will be re-entered in the system in the next few days to make the Online Mock test possible from August 13, onwards. The detailed schedule will be declared next week. And a detailed schedule of the online examination will be declared soon.
Those students who have not received their Login Credentials for online Mock/Final Examinations and need to update their data for the same are informed to provide the required data in the Google Form latest by August 6, 2020, till 5:30 pm and those who have received the Login Credentials can use the same for Mock/Final Exams and need not provide new data.
For remaining students, Login Credentials will be sent before August 12, 2020.
