Navlakhi Gang Rape: Vadodara Police takes accused to crime scene for reconstruction

Around 600 meters – that’s how much the minor was dragged into the bushes at the unlit Navlakhi ground on the night of 28th November’19.

Kishan and Jasha, the two accused for the gang rape of a minor girl at Navlakhi ground were caught by Ahmedabad Crime Branch on Sunday from Tarsali with help of human intelligence. On Monday, the two were given 8 days of remand.

However, when the Vadodara Police took the accused for reconstruction on Navlakhi ground, they discovered that the victim was dragged through bushes in the darkness for more than 400 meters, pushed over a 7 ft wall and then hauled her on the uneven land of the Golf Course for nearly 200 meters before she was sexually assaulted. The cops also found the wooden stick near the wall that was used to hit and harass the victim and her friend.

The police reconstructed the entire crime from step one, that is, where the accused were standing before they met the couple, who, out of the two, dragged the 14-year-old victim through the bushes and how, and at last they discovered the exact spot where the crime took place. More so, after a reconstructing the incident on foot for 2.8 km, it was found that the accused escaped the crime scene by walking through the wilderness behind the city palace and got out near Vishwamitri Bridge.

Throughout the reconstruction procedure, the rape accused Kishan and Jasha were handcuffed and tied with jute ropes. The procedure attracted many pedestrians and locals at the crime scene who wanted to take a look at the accused and witness the judicial proceedings.
