NMC Announces Schedule and Paper Pattern for NEXT Step 1 and 2 Exams, AIIMS Delhi to Conduct Mock Tests

In a recent update, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has released the schedule and paper pattern for the NEXT (National Exit Test) Step 1 and Step 2 exams. This announcement brings clarity and guidance for aspiring medical professionals across the country. Additionally, AIIMS Delhi has been designated to conduct mock tests to familiarize students with the exam format.

The NEXT exam, which will replace the existing NEET-PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate) and FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination), aims to streamline the medical entrance examination process. It will serve as a common exit examination for MBBS students and a screening test for foreign medical graduates seeking to practice in India.

The schedule for the NEXT Step 1 exam has been set, and it will be conducted twice a year. This move offers flexibility to students, enabling them to choose the most suitable time for their examination. The exam will assess a candidate’s knowledge and understanding acquired during their undergraduate medical education.

Furthermore, the NEXT Step 2 exam will focus on assessing a candidate’s clinical skills, including communication, clinical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
