As per the Supreme Court order, bursting of crackers before 8pm and after 10 pm is strictly prohibited during Diwali in the city. If people are caught doing so, they’d be arrested.
City police commissioner, Anupam Singh Gehlaut issued a notification regarding the rules for crackers and their bursting. Adding to that, they’ve also made police teams who’d be inspecting and monitoring the city, if in case anyone’s found not following the rules and regulations. Also, bursting of firecracker looms is not allowed as they produce more air pollution and also a lot of waste. Even Chinese lanterns have been banned as they too are capable of causing fire.
People cannot burst crackers within 100 metres of places that are notified under silent zones like hospitals, schools, colleges and religious institutions
The notification will be in force till 25th November ’18.
No crackers after 10 P.M and complete ban on firecracker loom
