In Vadodara, a couple who are both teachers have defied their daughter’s congenital cerebral palsy with their unwavering love and positive attitude towards life. Hetvi Khimsuriya, their daughter, has become a shining example of their nurturing as she holds the title of the first mentally challenged student to register her name in the Gujarat Book of Records.
Despite the initial challenges of their daughter being bedridden for seven years, the parents never lost hope and instead focused on developing Hetvi’s skills in crafts, drawing, and puzzles. Their efforts have paid off as Hetvi has not only registered her name in the Gujarat Book of Records but has also participated in art galleries, received numerous medals, trophies, and certificates, and even runs her own YouTube channel to help other mentally challenged children.
In addition to Hetvi’s accomplishments, her father Kantibhai Khimsuria has also been recognized for his work in promoting the all-round development of mentally challenged children and has been awarded the National Teacher Ratna Award by the state government.
The parents’ positive attitude and dedication towards their daughter’s development have not only made Hetvi a star but also served as an inspiration to other parents with handicapped children. Hetvi’s achievements have shown that with love and nurturing, anything is possible, and her parents’ efforts are a testament to the power of positive thinking.
