Peon honoured with the highest position in the district on his farewell by the Collector

The chair of the Collector is considered to be of the highest position of the district and getting a chance to sit on it as a gesture of respect is once in a lifetime experience.

A similar experience took place in Anand when a peon was given a chance to sit on the Collector’s chair. Fatehsinh Makwana, a resident of Tranol near Anand, retired on July 31, 2020, after 38 years of service. He served as a peon with about 15 collectors during his tenure.
The Collector’s office remains open for 15-20 hours. So the position of peon comes with a lot of responsibility too. Only those who have the qualities of discretion, insight, punctuality can handle this position. Fatehsinh completed his service with immense devotion, service and dedication.

On the farewell of Fatehsinh, Collector R. G Gohil gave him a chance to sit on his chair as a mark of response on the last day of his job. He had no idea that such an honour would come to him and will become a memorable moment for him for the rest of his life.
