– An article by Poojan Patel

In a momentous visit to his home state, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to grace Gujarat with a two-day visit scheduled for September 26-27. The visit holds significant importance as it marks the celebration of 20 years since the inception of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. PM Modi will partake in various events and inaugurate several projects, particularly in the education sector, totaling an impressive Rs 4,500 crore.

Originally planned for September 27-28, the visit has been rescheduled to September 26-27. During his stay, the Prime Minister will address the public in two key locations: Bodeli in Chhota Udepur district and Vadodara city. In Chhota Udepur, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 4,500 crore.

One of the highlights of the visit is PM Modi’s participation in the celebration of two decades of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit. On September 27, he will visit Science City in Ahmedabad, where the first Vibrant Gujarat Summit was hosted in 2003 at Tagore Hall.

PM Modi’s visit to Gujarat is not only about commemorating the past but also ushering in a brighter future for the state’s education sector. The Prime Minister is expected to unveil a series of education-related initiatives that will transform the landscape of education in Gujarat.

Key initiatives to be launched during the visit include:

  1. Swami Vivekananda Gyan Shakti Residential Schools: These schools aim to provide quality education and residential facilities to students.
  2. Raksha Shakti Schools: Focused on holistic development, these schools will empower students with both academic and life skills.
  3. Mukhya Mantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship: The Mukhyamantri Gyan Setu Merit Scholarships, aiming to benefit 30,000 meritorious students in Classes 6-12, will cost the state exchequer Rs 500 crore annually once student beneficiaries are identified across classes over the next seven years.
  4. MukhyaMantri Gyan Sadhana Merit Scholarship: The Gujarat State Education Department established the Gyan Sadhana Scholarship Scheme 2023 for students from low-income households in the state. The adoption of this plan will provide financial assistance to worthy state students in grades 9th through 12th.

The tribal town of Bodeli in Chhota Udepur will be the stage for these monumental launches. Before addressing the public gathering, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for various projects under the state government’s ‘Mission Schools of Excellence’ initiative.

The ‘Mission Schools of Excellence’ was initiated by PM Modi in Adalaj in October of the previous year, with the primary goal of enhancing the quality of education in the state. This initiative involves a significant investment of Rs 10,000 crore over the next five years.

The allocated funds will be utilized for the following:

– Building 50,000 new classrooms.

– Creating 1.5 lakh smart classrooms.

– Establishing 20,000 new computer labs.

– Setting up 5,000 tinkering labs.

This ambitious project aims to directly benefit nearly one crore students across the state within the next five years. It will significantly upgrade school infrastructure, promote smart learning, and provide access to modern technology, ultimately enriching the educational experience for students.

Moreover, these developments align with PM Modi’s vision to make Gujarat a leader on the global map of industry and trade. The Vibrant Gujarat Summit, which he initiated in 2003 during his tenure as Chief Minister, has been a catalyst for economic growth and investment in the state.

As the 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit approaches, scheduled to take place between January 10 and 12 next year in Gandhinagar, the legacy of this transformative event continues to thrive.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Gujarat on September 26-27 promises to be a momentous occasion. It not only marks the celebration of two decades of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit but also heralds a new era of educational excellence in the state. With the launch of groundbreaking initiatives and substantial investments in the education sector, Gujarat is poised for a brighter future.
