Police constable celebrated his daughter’s birth on duty

While people might fear the virus, living on the streets, poor population in India fear hunger more than corona. During such times, setting up a community kitchen to celebrate his daughter’s birth, police constable RS Galsar of Manjalpur police station, serves as an inspiration to the society.

Galsar has neither seen his newly born daughter nor he could attend the celebration which took place on March 28th in his native village in Banaskantha. However, he made sure to celebrate this joyous occasion in his own way. He provided food to the people living in slums at Atladara check post by setting up a community kitchen close by.

Since the beginning of janta curfew, March 24th, Galsar’s duty is to keep an eye on the vehicular movement happening at Atladara check post, especially for the vehicles entering and getting out of Padra. On March 28th, he received the news of the delivery of his baby girl. As he was on duty and still is, he decided to celebrate this news with a combined effort of him and his friends feeding the hungry people during such crisis.

He said they will continue this service through the community kitchen they have set up until the lockdown period gets over. To support this initiative, a lot of donations have been made which have further enabled the team to prepare a variety of dishes rather than repeating the distribution of same food items every day. They also distributed food packets to the people walking back to their villages on Padra road.
