On the occasion of Kisan Diwas, leaders of Vadodara Khedut Samaj paid homage to the farmers who lost their lives in the movement at Mahatma Gandhinagar gruh and protested against the agricultural law. However, police detained 5 farmers, including 2 women for violating notification in place.
For the last 21 days, the farmers are agitating on the Delhi border against the agricultural law. As many as 29 farmers have lost their lives in the ongoing farmer’s movement. Today on the occasion of Farmers Day, protest programs were held all across Gujarat including Vadodara to oppose anti-farmer agricultural laws and paying tributes to the farmers.
Led by Vipin Chandra Patel, a leader of Vadodara City Khedut Samaj and the farmer leaders paid homage to the farmers who lost their lives in the agitation on the Delhi border at the Mahatma Gandhi Town Hall in Vadodara. They also protested against the anti-farmer policies of the government by raising slogans against the agricultural law and supporting the farmer’s movement.
However, Raopura police detained five farmers, including two women, who were protesting against the government. Farmers sitting on protest with posters and banners attracted the passers-by. Farmers, on the other hand, who were arrested by the police, expressed their displeasure against the police system. They said now the BJP government has also taken away the right to agitate.
