Pretty Girls Drive Like This This…CRPF’s ‘Yashasvini’ Women Bike Expedition Receives Grand Welcome in Gujarat

We are still appalled when we spot a woman on a bike, well, in this case, the audience must have raised and stuck their eyebrows on their foreheads because the CRPF women celebrated and promoted the initiative “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” Abhiyan with a Women Bike Expedition “Yashasvini”.

The CRPF’s “Yashasvini” Women Bike Expedition, celebrating women’s power, was warmly welcomed at the 6th Battalion NDRF headquarters in Jarod, Gujarat. The 75-strong team, consisting of bikers and pillion riders, embarked on an extraordinary cross-country journey to spread the message of Nari Shakti, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, unity, integrity, and women’s empowerment. Their epic journey culminates at the iconic Statue of Unity in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat.

In a collaborative effort between the CRPF and the Ministry of Women and Child Development, this initiative was organized to champion the causes of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, women’s empowerment, and unity. The 75 bikers with pillion riders set out from three different locations across the country on October 3rd and 5th, 2023, from Kanyakumari, Srinagar, and Shillong. Their route spans 15 states, 2 union territories, and covers an impressive 10,000 kilometers before reaching their final destination at Kevadia.

Upon their arrival in Vadodara, the team received a grand welcome from MP Ranjan Bhatt and senior officers from the CRPF, NDRF, and other organizations, as well as enthusiastic school and college students.

Throughout their journey, the team actively engaged with girl students, women’s self-help groups, Anganwadi workers, NCC cadets, and women entrepreneurs. Their mission was clear: to empower women and promote the message of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.

The riders shared inspiring stories, emphasizing that women are not to be underestimated and can achieve anything. Ritu Kumari from 233 CRPF, who started the journey in Srinagar, encouraged others to recognize their potential and move forward with confidence. She said, “We want to spread the message that women are not behind and can do anything like men.”

Minakshi Khuntia from 232 CRPF, a proud participant in the expedition, shared her journey from a small village in Odisha to becoming part of a national mission for women’s empowerment. She urged all girls to pursue education and follow their dreams.

The expedition continued from Vadodara to Ekta Nagar, flagged off by MP Ranjan Bhatt, senior CRPF, and NDRF officials. This incredible journey not only celebrates women’s power but also serves as an inspiring testament to the strength, determination, and potential of women across India.
