Prisoner under treatment for COVID at Lalbagh Guest House, escapes

Dinesh a.k.a Chhotu Yadav, a native of Uttar Pradesh was sentenced by a Nadiad Court to seven years for attempted murder and Arms Act. He was then transferred to Vadodara Central Jail in March 2020.

Dinesh tested positive for Coronavirus and he was admitted to the second floor of the COVID Center for inmates at Lalbagh Guest House. An 80-bed COVID Center has been set up at the Lalbagh Atithi Gruh after prisoners had tested positive for Corona in Central Jail.

Tight security has been set at the Lalbagh Guest House for the inmates of Vadodara Central Jail who have tested positive for coronavirus. Despite the tight security prisoner, Dinesh Yadav broke the iron window of the center at 4 in the morning and escaped with the help of a bedsheet. In the early morning hours, it was known that the prisoner has escaped and the matter was immediately reported to the Central Jail Authorities and Makarpura Police. Makarpura Police registered a case against the prisoner turned fugitive. A Crime Branch team is also investigating and searching for him.

Earlier, Ajju Kaniyo had tested positive and fled from Wadi Police Station and the notorious bootlegger Jivo Rajput from Sayajiganj area had also escaped while undergoing treatment at Sayaji Hospital.
