Sursagar Development
A complete makeover of the Sursagar Lake is underway as VMC is positive that people will be able to enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake by March 2020. The civic body plans to construct ghaats (steps) around the lake, have a walkway for pedestrians, have illuminated water fountains, and also plans to resume boating facilities.
Jan Mahal
Jan Mahal, a long standing project that say the light of the day in 2017 may be revealed to the public in 2020. The under construction project will be a hub that will integrate the city bus service, railways, state transport depot, taxi services, rickshaws and will also be decked with multi-level parking and a shopping arena. The green building, designed like a palace will also be disabled friendly.
Nizampura Transport Hub
The temporary bus station at Nizampura is currently under construction and is said to be completed by 2020. The transport hub is being developed for public mobility after VMC proposed to make hubs for all 4 zones of the city. The civic body has earmarked 18,158 sq ft for the Nizampura Transport Hub and the project may have commercial units, cafeteria, etc. This will be the second Smart City Urban Transport Hub.
Solar Panel (Akota-Dandia Bazaar Bridge)
After launching the smart city project in 2015, the long-standing Solar Panel project at the Akota-Dandia Bazaar Bridge may finally start operating and generating power from 2020. The primary aim of the plan is to generate and supply electricity to streetlights and ensure functioning across the city. It is said to generate an average of 3MW of solar energy daily.
