Protest to reopen Manjalpur Sports Complex

With Unlock-5, most of the businesses, malls, and multiplexes across the country have resumed as the government allowed operation under strict guidelines. However, the coronavirus scare has put a stop to all sports activities. The players, as well as the members, are eagerly waiting for the sports complexes to reopen.

In Vadodara, the sports complex is yet to open fully, which led to members protesting. On Thursday, the members of the Manjalpur Sports Complex staged a protest with placards outside the sports complex early in the morning and organized a rally till Durbar Chowdki demanding the reopening of the sports complex.

The Manjalpur Sports Complex is managed by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) and before the pandemic, it was buzzing with sports activities. However, due to the global outbreak, it was closed.

Members said that if most of the sports complexes in Vadodara have been opened then why the Manjalpur Sports Complex is not being reopened. No elected political leaders are cooperating with them. They also questioned that when it comes to increasing immunity then how can one boost immunity at home. If the sanitization is not being done, then the members will do it themselves. They demand the sports complex to be opened from tomorrow.
