The entrepreneurial gathering housed PU’s student innovators across multiple disciplines providing for each of them a platform to showcase their innovative prowess. Parul University through the efforts of its Entrepreneurship Development Centre has been extensively pushing forward its agenda for promoting a start-up culture in a bid to provide the students with exposure to the business world during the course of their academics. These start-ups have received grants from notable government organizations and agencies.
Modern education has been witnessing a constant shift towards innovation and leading higher educational institutes like Parul University have been reshaping their pedagogical, methodological, and learning tools to gaslight the flame of innovation within every student. The event featured a record of over 100+ innovative projects which have been successfully developed and funded with cumulative grants of 75 Lacs under numerous government bodies, funding, and investment agencies. Celebrating this expo marked a milestone in the University’s efforts towards creating and showcasing the full essence of Atmanirbhar Bharat with the PU gates opened to be a part of the nationwide commemoration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, launched a nationwide celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, and Parul University through this Expo joined the nation by exhibiting its notable innovation achievements. The University has been pursuing an inclusive and complementary culture of developing projects by integrating its numerous streams of education in a single consensus of value addition in the society and community. The University’s project specializations include fields like engineering and technology, Ayurveda, pharmacy, applied sciences, physiotherapy, nursing amongst other fields where students have been innovating comprehensive solutions to support society. A number of Parul University’s projects have received their funding through grants from leading organizations such as Gujarat Student Start-up and Innovation Hub and Student Start-up and Innovation Policy (SSIP), Government of Gujarat.
Some of these projects include VitaFALL, a startup that aims at helping aged people, specially-abled and the needy by monitoring their vital signs and fall prediction/detection. In most of the devices and innovations, the fall detection technique is only based on gyroscope or tri-accelerometer or tilt sensor, so there is a very high possibility of generation of false fall alarms as there is no vitals observation analysis simultaneously and VitaFALL seeks to resolve this challenge. “It is truly a matter of great pride to see our students taking part and exhibiting their innovative skills and abilities at such a young age. Through such initiatives we surely look forward to providing maximum exposure to entrepreneurship in our City, State and Nation, said Mr. Jay Sudani, CEO of the University’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre.
Another innovation that has been developed by the budding innovators of Parul University includes Liberty Crutch, a mobility device that aims at providing functional independence to the user through hands-free and pain-free mobility. It can be used by people with unilateral below-knee musculoskeletal injuries. Such projects have been resolving the challenges which the people have been facing in the various sectors of life and require effective solutions.
The innovations which the students of Parul University have been developing have not only been centered on digital technologies, as they also include natural health solutions centered on enhancing health. The field of natural Ayurvedic Herbal Tea is one of such innovations which has been centered on providing care in pre-diabetic individuals. The sale of such herbal-based products is increasing and will continue to increase day by day, hence this herbal-based product which can be used in the form of herbal tea will be specifically effective in preventing diabetes at a pre-diabetic stage.
“As a University, we have been making efforts to pioneer the essence of innovation which will provide our students with the much-needed exposure to entrepreneurship and innovation that we can fulfill the vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat”, said the PU President, Dr. Devanshu J Patel.
