Ramayan on the theme “Kya Aap Mere Ram Banoge!” in Vishwa Van near the Statue of Unity premises

The Ramayan Festival is organized in India by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Department of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. Various cultural troupes from Trinidad and Tobago, Fiji, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and Thailand arrived in Gujarat to perform the Ramayana as part of the expansion of the 6th International Ramayana Festival.

The Ramayan festival was also held in the Narmada district as these cultural groups reached the vicinity of the Statue of Unity, the tallest statue in the world, in the presence of ICCR in Gujarat Regional director of Dr. Jigar Inamdar.

These cultural troupes from different countries had previously presented Ramayana programs on Diwali in Delhi and Ayodhya. As part of the expansion of the Sixth International Ramayana Festival, they presented the Ramayana for two days as part of a cultural program. 

The event was organized in collaboration with the Statue of Unity in Gujarat and Maharaja Sayajirao University-Vadodara, ICCR, and the Department of Sports-Youth and Cultural Activities, Government of Gujarat. On the first day of the program dated 26th October, Wednesday, artists from Sri Lanka and Thailand presented the story of Ramayana. While the next day on Thursday, artists from Fiji and Malaysia performed “Kya Aap Mere Ram Banoge!” An artistic presentation of the theme-based Ramayan was done. On this occasion, Additional Collector Mr. Himanshu Parikh, tourists visiting the Statue of Unity, and others took advantage of the Ramayana presentation and enjoyed the devotional atmosphere.
