These memories, and the desire of theater artists, prompted a demand for the reconstruction of the venue. As a result, the state-of-the-art Gandhi Smriti Bhavan, aptly reflecting its rich legacy, stands proudly once again.

The completion of this reconstruction was celebrated in a special event attended by prominent figures, including Mayor Dakshesh Mavani and Standing Chairman Rajan Patel. The presence of theater artists at the inauguration emphasized the deep-rooted cultural and artistic importance of the Gandhi Smriti Bhavan.

Surat's Gandhismruti Bhavan to be reconstructed at a cost of Rs 46 crore | DeshGujaratWith its doors once more open to the public, the Gandhi Smriti Bhavan is set to continue its tradition of hosting exceptional performances and contributing to the artistic heritage of the region.

As mentioned before, there was no cultural centre for the performances of the plays coming from Mumbai and Ahmedabad, making it difficult for the theatre audience to watch excellent plays and also to promote the theatre act which is a dying act in the OTT platform world. This initiative will not only preserve the theatre art and the artists but will give Surties a class experience and a platform for such social gatherings for hosting the theatre plays, promoting the local artists and preserving the art.
