Restrictions on use of loudspeakers announced in Vadodara city

In order to maintain peace and security in the city of Vadodara, restrictions on the widespread use of loudspeakers have been directed to prevent noise pollution and public interest. Keeping this in mind, the Vadodara City Police Commissioner has issued a notification to control the use of loud speakers, on November 18, 2022.

Under the notification, it has been stated not to make more noise than the prescribed amount of noise pollution in the entire Vadodara City Police Commissioner area.

  1. Loudspeaker has been banned in an area up to 100 meters around hospitals, educational institutions, courts and religious places.
  2. Do not use provocative utterances and songs in the mic system.
  3. Follow traffic rules and do not perform ‘Garba’ or dance on public roads.
  4. Do not use loud speaker anywhere except where permitted.

Conditions for Relaxation of Ban:

  1. The owner or partner should apply for permission more than once before 7 days to the police station of that area for playing mic system.
  2. The responsibility for any untoward incident occurring during the procession or rally shall lie with the licensee.
  3. Obtain written permission to use mic system in public place.
  4. The licensee is required to be present where the system is used.
  5. Speaker can be played from 6 am to 10 pm.
  6. However, on certain religious festivals/cultural celebrations, loudspeakers may be used only for a limited time as per the concessions given.
  7. Violators of this order shall be punished under Section-188 of the Indian Penal Act-1860 and G. P. will be liable to punishment as per Section-131,135 of the Act.

Vadodara City Police Commissioner will be effective from 19/11/2022 to 03/12/2022 in the entire area under the Government.
